Colin Cross
5th In Second Qualifying, But 8th Overall
Well you would thing that if you went faster, and were 5th fastest of the session, you would improve your position. Not at the Runoffs, as Colin Cross found out today when he posted 2 laps faster than he went yesterday, and was bumped back 2 positions.
The track was a little slicker and hotter than yesterday. Other classes went slower than yesterday, so most people thought than there would not be any fast times posted today. For the most part everyone was flat from yesterday, but there was some shuffling in the grid.
Two drivers that were behind Colin yesterday on the grid posted a lap fast enough to bump Colin back. " Man this is frustrating! I was in a good place, but the group didn't work. None of us posted any times that helped us. The dynamic just didn't work!" Stated Cross
Marge only got 4 laps in before a battery problem ended her session early, leaving her not able to improve on her position. Laury's times dropped by 1.5 seconds, but also remained unchanged on the grid.
Tomorrow at 4:15 is the last chance for the drivers to improve their grid position, before Sundays race.
