Racing Heads East For National Championship
Three of Instinct Racing's drivers, Colin Cross, Laury Lundberg and Marge
Lundberg arrive today at the Mid Ohio Raceway to begin the 10 day long SCCA
Runoffs.
In order to get in some early testing, the team ran a regional race last weekend at Mid O. Following a very successful weekend, the team traveled back to California for a short 4 day break, returning today.
Saturday Colin will complete his final test before the event starts with practice on Monday. Laury and Marge will complete their final test on Sunday.
Marge finished 4th this year in the Southern Pacific Division, which qualified her, for her first trip to the main event. "I have been looking forward to this all year" She said
Laury who also finish 4th but in the Northern Pacific Championship, will make his first trip to Mid Ohio. " I have been to the runoffs several times before, but all when it was held in Atlanta, this is my first trip to Mid O " said Laury.
Following his 10th place finish at the runoffs last year, Colin set his eyes on winning the gold this year. "I ran out of the Southern Pacific division this year. I felt that running at different track against different people would help me to get ready for this race, I feel that I am ready!' Stated Cross
The Runoffs is the premier event for the SCCA club. There will be 24 classes competing for the title of National Champion. Mondays practice is followed by qualifying on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. Friday starts the first of three days of races.
