Racing's Colin Cross and Marge Lundberg head to Phoenix International Raceway
next week for round one of the 2004 SCCA Divisional Championships. The weekend
will contain 2 separate races, one each on Sunday and Monday. These races
will be the first chance to score points in order to qualify for the National
Championships held in September in Lexington Ohio.
This is the first time that Marge will be running for a divisional title and
also her first trip to the Runoffs. She ran a few races in 2003 tying for
5th in the final points.
Colin after finishing 10th at last years Runoffs, is setting his sights on returning to the Runoffs. "We had a good finish last year. I am looking forward to returning to the Runoffs and improving my results. My goal is to be on the podium. I am happy that Hoosier Tire, Ron Chuck Engineering, Red Line Oil and Laurens Closet chose to continue supporting me this year. Their support was invaluable last year, and I know it is essential to fulfill my goal this year" Stated Cross
The Team has seen a few changes in management. Brett Hope is returning to teaching which will limit his travel for the year, and Scott Shelley will be attending selected races. Mike Miller has picked up as team manager for Cross and Lundberg for the first few races, until he starts racing in the SCCA Regional series in April.
After Phoenix the
team heads to California Speedway for the second round 2 weeks later.
